|Regional Expert Group Consultative Workshop|
In connection with the ‘Climate Summit for a Living Himalayas 2011’ CPRD provided technical assistance to Ministry of Environment and Forests of the Government of Bangladesh in developing regional road map on water security. In this context, CPRD organized an Expert Group Consultative Meeting on Water Security at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel on 2 and 3 July 2011.
Honorable State Minister, Ministry of Environment and Forests, Dr Hasan Mahmud, MP attended the meeting as the Chief Guest, while Honorable State Minister, Ministry of Water Resources Al-Hajj Md Mahbubur Rahman, MP and Mr Mohamed Mijarul Quayes, Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs attend the meeting as Special Guests. Mr Mesbah ul Alam, Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Forests presided over the consultative meeting.
The ‘Climate Summit for a Living Himalayas 2011’ aims at adopting and endorse a 10-year road map for adaptation to climate change in the Eastern Himalayas sub-region for ensuring food, water and energy security while, maintaining biodiversity and eco-system services.
